When it comes to wedding style, there are so many trends out there now: Boho to vintage, retro to modern, destination to outdoor adventure elopements. But one thing to always keep in mind as you look for that perfect wedding attire, is that as long as you feel truly beautiful on the inside, you will radiate beauty on the outside!

Say hello to new wedding traditions!

Although the white wedding dress never seems to go out of style, embracing bold and bright colors is never a bad idea. Recently we have been seeing shades of pink, champagne, blush and pale blue hues work their way into the white gowns. Textured ties, vests and handkerchiefs, larger boutonniere and vivid socks are all the rage for the suits. Ultimately, adding new materials, vivid florals, rich textures and sharp colors into your wedding traditions is very exciting to see as a guest!

It’s true. Boys love flowers, too.

Bouquets do get a lot of attention, but lately, the boutonnieres, collars and sleeves are coming decked out in many cool designs, colors and unique flowers. Are you overwhelmed by what type of flowers to pick during your wedding season? Take a look at some ideas we organized by color with our Wedding Color Resource Guide! Talk to your wedding planner or florist about some color ideas and create some mood boards to help them see your vision! And don’t forget to include your significant other in this process, too! Ok, splurge on the flowers, the perfume, the whisky, but don’t forget the entertainment!

Creating fun planning tasks to do with your wedding party before the wedding is highly encouraged. Sure, there’s the dress and suit fittings, searching for the ideal hairdresser and makeup artist, but there’s much more to creating a perfect wedding that everyone will enjoy. Creating fun meet-ups with your bridal party ahead of time will ensure that your wedding day will have that right positive energy, and we have seen time and again how that energy can truly spread to every guest as well!

One fun idea you can do with your friends is to go on a Perfume/Cologne Hunt Party. Fill up your senses and narrow down your ideal wedding signature scents! And encourage your bridal party to find a complimentary scent for themselves that will help you stand out from the crowd, but in the most lovely way, of course! Your signature scents can also help guide you on the types of florals to include in your decor and table settings.

Another thing to consider is how to WOW your guests with interesting entertainment. Sure, consider a classy master of ceremonies, and maybe even a band. But one really cool idea is to invite your friends out to see some different event dancers. We’ve seen first hand Persian, Flamenco, Ribbon, Salsa, Swing, Belly, Acrobatic Dancing and even Aerial Silk Dancing! Think about the type of tone you want for your wedding, and the best time to entertain your guests during your reception or cocktail hour!

Gents and Ladies, it might take some arm twisting, but try to convince your bridal party to go out on the town to taste test the ideal toast drink, and even search for your own signature cocktail drink. Not to mention the ideal beverage for those bridal party flasks or before-the-wedding toasts. :) Coordinate with your wedding planner on scheduling this task with a professional drink consultant or sommelier! Don’t forget to arrange for cab rides ahead of time!

Looking good. Feeling good. Are you ready for that dip?

We can’t decide what’s better—necktie or bowtie—but we do think handkerchiefs are a must, sunglasses are always a good idea, and prepping and practicing for the perfect photo couple dip is essential! Having a strong back and arms always helps in this arena, so if you feel a little off on your dipping game, start working on your upper body weight training now. Practice does make perfect because there are many different ways you can dip someone, especially when it comes to the type of dress or clothes they are wearing. Plus, most photo dips last much longer than just a quick dance dip. And there are certain angles that work better than others when it comes to photography. So, a great way to practice under the radar is to take your loved one out a few times for some dancing, or maybe even sign up for a dance class. Carve out a dance date night in your own home. You can practice dipping without them even knowing what you are doing!

Get prepped and ready for a lot of public display of affection.

Normally you kiss your partner without an audience. Now you’ll have to do it, and well, in front of your guests, your officiant, basically everyone. No pressure. But let’s be frank, it can be a challenge having to repeat a lot of kissing in front of your photographer or videographer. So, our motto is practice some PDA every once in a while. And get your mind into the groove of what it means to focus on heartfelt romance, romance, romance. Sharing this level of affection and closeness is usually not the norm for most couples every day. But is it worth practicing? We think YES. And we also think that this topic is something worth bringing up, especially for busy couples planning a wedding. Practicing affection will not only make you feel good, but it will encourage the right mood between you and your partner before, during and after your wedding day. When you get your photos back, you will be surprised at how blissfully relaxed you appear.

Fill up your flasks, put on your tiaras, and go ahead and show off your fun designer socks!

What can we say, we really love it when our clients wear cool socks and want to show them off. And we are seeing more and more trends toward comfortable shoes instead of 4-inch-heels. To change it up, opt for bringing more than one pair of shoes for different photo moments at your event. Your feet will thank you. And for those wanting photos on the green, be sure all of the heels (bridesmaids included) are adorned with heel caps. They will help prevent shoes sinking into the grass.

Cheers to all of those friends that dressed up for us!

We’ve witnessed and photographed so many cool bridal party moments; these images really just scratch the surface. Year after year we see similar color or mixed color attire trends. There’s muted pastels making their way to a lot of weddings this year, but we are seeing more and more colors of the rainbow pop up as well. But one of our favorite bridal party attire trends we love are the mix and match of dress styles and tie and vest pattern styles.
