Jessica and Chris' Unique Engagement Session Idea: DC Ranch Marketplace, Arizona

Jessica and Chris wanted something out of the box for their engagement session, which seemed easy given Chris' superhuman talent: extreme juggling. Chris can juggle just about any object: pins, machetes, torches, you name it. Combine that with his abilities to ride a unicycle and balance objects, like a 6-foot ladder, on his face, and the photo possibilities seem endless. But how to incorporate those talents into artistic engagement photos of the two of them, without focusing on just the spectacle? That was our challenge!

First, we swapped out what Chris normally juggled for plush red hearts, which seemed a safer choice given that Jessica would be snuggling close in the photos. We also chose a location that would provide a beautiful backdrop without drawing too many spectators. And we found creative ways to incorporate Jessica into the act, such as her sitting on a wall at the same height as Chris on his unicycle, or Jessica providing back support for a leaning Chris balancing a ladder on his chin.

Most importantly, we focused on creating some really great portraits of just the two of them that highlight their energetic personalities and their happiness together!
